FIAB and Alimentaria renew their alliance for a more international and sustainable industry. The two organisations will continue working together at Alimentaria 2024

Contribute to promoting the internationalisation, innovation and sustainability of the industry. With this goal in mind, the Spanish Federation for the Food and Drink Industries (FIAB) and the Alimentaria trade show have renewed their collaboration agreement for the next edition of the event, which will take place at Fira Barcelona’s Gran Via venue from 18 to 21 March 2024

GMF news - World Trade Fair Guide. Turin, May 17, 2023 – Alimentaria, a Fira Barcelona trade show considered a leading international event for the food industry and its value chain, and FIAB, which represents the widest possible range of Spanish companies in the industry, are thus continuing the work carried out in previous editions through initiatives that highlight the opening of new markets and increases in exports, constant innovation and the inescapable commitment to the sustainability of the food and drink industry, as the country’s largest industry.

“Alimentaria is a can’t-miss event for Spanish industries, a global showcase where we can promote the internationalisation of our companies and products, foster and share innovation and advance the sustainability of the industry,” says Mauricio García de Quevedo, General Manager of FIAB.

For his part, J. Antonio Valls, general manager of Alimentaria Exhibitions, highlights the role of FIAB as "a great backbone for the entire productive and associative framework of the Spanish food industry and its mission to give visibility to this sector's commitment to economic, social and environmental sustainability".

The most recent Alimentaria trade fair, held alongside Hostelco in April 2022, was attended by almost 3,000 exhibiting companies, 29% of them international, and over 100,000 visitors, 23% of them from 150 different countries.

The Spanish Federation for the Food and Drink Industries (FIAB), made up of 45 associations, represents the leading industrial sector in the country, with production in 2022 exceeding 144 billion euros and over 41 billion euros in exports. The industry is made up of more than 30,000 companies, most of which are SMEs located all over the country, and it directly employs around 450,000 people directly and another 2,500,000 indirectly.
