Thaiand's Deputy Prime Minister welcomes the global energy industry to Future Energy Asia 2021

Dear Industry Colleagues,
The Ministry of Energy of Thailand is pleased to congratulate and support the “Future Energy Asia Exhibition and Summit 2021” which will be taking place during 30 June – 2 July 2021 in Bangkok and online platform. This event is recognized as one of the global meeting points for energy industries to foster cooperation in driving forward energy transformation toward a cleaner, greener, modern and sustainable energy future.
Comparing to other sectors, the COVID-19 pandemic only provides a limited number of impacts to the energy sector. For this reason, it is important to transform these challenges into opportunities – by revolutionizing our energy systems to become more resilient and sustainable in order to align with the global trends toward a low carbon economy. Renewable energy represents a huge investment opportunity in ASEAN with the value of USD 281 billion allocating to renewables project investments during 2018-2025. Besides, ASEAN is expected to remain a key engine of growth for LNG market, amounting to 83 MTPA between 2019-2040 with high potential of gas market liberalization. In addition, digitalization will play a critical role to accelerate the energy transition in the region by implementing sustainable technologies, such as smart grids, renewables integration, and high-performance energy efficiency.
I believe Future Energy Asia is the pertinent forum for addressing these transformative themes and I would encourage all distinguished delegates from energy sector to contact with dmg events, the organizers of Future Energy Asia 2021, to explore how you can participate in this important forum, both physical and online approaches. I hope that this event will accelerate the development of the region’s energy mix through open dialogue, information exchange and business opportunities in order to strengthen our energy future.
