CroAGRO and Food and Healthy Living Fairs Closed

GMF news - World Trade Fair Guide. Turin, December 13, 2019 – This year FOOD AND HEALTHY LIVING FAIRS were held within a joint term with the new fair project CroAGRO, the International Fair of Agriculture, Agricultural Equipment and Machinery.

In 9 pavilions of the Zagreb Fair 460 exhibitors from 28 countries were presented.

The fairs were opened by Assist. Prof. Oliver Majic, PhD, Deputy Mayor of Zagreb, who emphasized that agriculture is the strategic branch in the Republic of Croatia and that she was especially looking forward to the return of CROAGRO, the International Fair of Agriculture, Agricultural Equipment and Machinery to the Zagreb Fair.

Zagreb is the generator of rural development and supports food sovereignty and integration of agriculture into the overall economy. The importance is attached to competition, taking into account indigenous domestic products and food origin - said Deputy Mayor Olivera Majic.

In her welcome address Marija Vuckovic, Minister of Agriculture emphasized that "The Ministry of Agriculture plays an important role in supporting competitiveness, but also in rural renewal, the return of young and vital rural communities. The Ministry also cares about the environment, but this should not and cannot be at the expense of agricultural production. Our priorities in the negotiations with the EU are: food quality, biodiversity, generational renewal in rural areas, stable and fair income. Recently, we have been collaborating with a number of experts from the Faculty of Agriculture on development of aquaculture and diagnostics of agriculture, so as to draw as much as possible from EU funds 2021-2027 because 'Croatian farmers are at the heart of Croatia.'"

After 15 years, we witnessed the great return of the Agricultural Fair to Zagreb, with which the Zagreb Fair, in partnership with the Gospodarski list newspaper, set the highest standards and transformed this fair into the most significant agricultural event in the Republic of Croatia.

On the very first day, one of the more expensive agricultural machines was sold. This was a Claas Lexion 6800 combine from Eko-terra d.o.o. company, worth EUR 400,000. The buyer wanted to remain anonymous.

Gastro show, where chefs prepared recipes from cookbooks issued by Gospodarski list, CROAGRO Academy of young farmers "It is good to be a farmer" for high school students, the 5th expert seminar on vegetable production in Croatia - Croatian vegetables, the 5th SirCro Fest - Croatian festival of traditional cheese as well as numerous lectures also took place. The best Croatian farmers were proclaimed. They were selected by the Croatian Agricultural Journalist Association DANH in 21 categories based on the results achieved this and last year.

The exhibition of autochthonous Croatian breeds of domestic animals was also presented, and the Croatian Tractor of the Year was selected. The best Croatian tractor is FENDT 942 VARIO Gen6, the best design is VALTRA T234 tractor and the best specialized tractor is Antonio Carraro Tony 10900sr.

The evaluation of the expert jury consisting of representatives of the Croatian Food and Agriculture Agency at the Faculty of Agriculture in Zagreb, Croatian Fruit Growers Association and the Faculty of Food and Biotechnology in Zagreb, declared Fuji the best apple variety, while Cripps Pink and Topaz took second and third place, respectively.

The trademark of the Food and Healthy Living Fairs was, as always, a diverse and high-quality programme with numerous interesting and educational lectures, seminars, congresses, presentations and workshops.

For the first time visitors could taste Croatian craft beers with different flavors, sweet potato dried flatbread and pasta, chili sauce with cherries, and enjoy many organized cooking workshops, lectures on natural cosmetics, breathing techniques, sound baths and more.

HUPED's 13th Congress on cooperation between classical and unconventional medicine, entitled "Scientific evidence in unconventional medicine" also took place. The medical lecture on spiritual healing by the teachings of Bruno Gröning, delivered by a medical team of lecturers from Germany and Dieter Häusler, leader of the largest international organization for spiritual healing, and a lecture delivered by Dr. Semir Osmanagic on the healing energy of the Bosnian pyramids, attracted particular interest.
