GMF news - World Trade Fair Guide. Turin, February 15, 2017 – Messe Stuttgart and the German-Slovakian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Slowakei) are jointly organising the event "LASYS meets Central Europe“ for the first time from 30 to 31 May 2017. This event will focus on laser applications for the automobile industry and will be held in Trnava in Slovakia. It will bring together suppliers of laser production systems, laser-specific machine sub-systems, components, processes and services, and industrial users.
The Trnava region is home to a large number of industrial companies, especially from the automobile production sector which is rapidly expanding throughout Slovakia. "The aim of our event is to demonstrate to interested laser users from the automobile and automotive component supply industries and other branches of industry the potential of lasers to increase quality and production, and also show how they can profit from state-of-the-art solutions and the latest developments and processes.
We are also enabling exhibitors at the international trade fair LASYS to access a future-oriented user market," said Gunnar Mey, Department Director Industry at Messe Stuttgart. That's because economic activity in the Slovakian automobile industry, which produced more than 1 million cars in 2016 for the second year in succession, is leading to rising demand for laser technology.
Dr. Guido Glania, Managing Director of AHK Slowakei, regards the summit meeting and the accompanying exhibition as an ideal opportunity for exhibitors: "Industry in Slovakia is continuing its growth course. The expansion of the Volkswagen plant in Bratislava and the start of production at a new plant of Jaguar-Land Rover in mid-2018 have provided a further boost to the investment plans of local companies. However, expansion plans and relocations are also playing a significant role outside the automobile industry, for example in the electrical engineering industry. In other words, there are excellent market opportunities as a whole."
The Congress programme on the first day in Trnava will be dominated by cross-sector and cross-material use of lasers in industry. A get-together will be held in the evening before interested parties will have the opportunity on the second day to specifically forge contacts with manufacturers and industry colleagues in scheduled meetings.
Two acknowledged teams of experts have combined their expertise for "LASYS meets Central Europe": AHK Slowakei had organised Automotive Suppliers CEE – Conference & Exhibition, a first-class forum for professionals and companies from the automobile industry, only at the end of November 2016 and maintains close relations with politicians and industry in Slovakia. Every year the industrial trade fairs staged by Messe Stuttgart bring together more than 100,000 international trade visitors and leading decision-makers. LASYS, International Trade Fair for Laser Material Processing, is one of these trade fairs through its focus on the user of lasers in industrial production.
