The Company is committed to delivering defence capability and economic growth through industrial partnerships. BAE Systems has a long history with Romania, with heritage company de Havilland providing aircraft in the 1920s and 1930s for commercial pilot training and serving routes that opened up internal flights within the country. In addition, the British Aircraft Corporation worked with Romanian industry partners to build the BAC 1-11 commercial passenger aircraft in the 1980s in a factory that today sits next to the site of BSDA.
The Company’s products and systems are in use today across Europe and have been donated by multiple nations to Ukraine to support the nation’s defence. BAE Systems has has established a presence in Kyiv to coordinate with local partners to support Ukraine’s defence and also its future reconstruction.
