Turin, February 13, 2024 – “As President of ECTA I will contribute to sustainably strengthening the competitive position of European tool manufacturers," said Federico Costa, Managing Director of Febametal S.p.A. from Turin, who was elected President of the European Cutting Tools Association (ECTA) on November 13, 2023 for the coming four years. The Italian entrepreneur succeeds the German Markus Horn, Paul Horn GmbH, who has held the position since 2019.
The ongoing weakness of the global economy, whose duration and intensity cannot yet be estimated, as well as the uncertainty of numerous customers are currently having a noticeable impact on the business and outlook of many tool manufacturers in Europe, in addition to global political pitfalls. At the same time, new regulatory requirements from Brussels represent a major challenge for companies. Particularly in such a turbulent situation, it is important to maintain international network contacts to stay oriented. And this is exactly what ECTA, the European Association of Cutting Tool and Clamping Technology Manufacturers, offers with its annual events in alternating countries.
The next two major events are the World Cutting Tool Conference 2024 (WCTC), which will take place in Osaka (Japan) on invitation of the Japanese association JTA, and the ECTA Conference 2025 (ECTC), which will be organized in Italy by ECTA and the Italian association UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE.
Febametal S.p.A develops, produces and markets standard and special tools of Italian provenance in Italy and operates as an importer.
The European Cutting Tools Association (ECTA) is the European association of cutting tool and clamping technology manufacturers. ECTA regularly organizes triennial world conferences and European branch events at various locations.
