| | Barcelona, June 2013 – The President and CEO of Azbil Telstar, Ton Capella, will preside over the Organizing Committee of PharmaProcess, an international forum supporting the pharmaceutical industry, which will be held on 29th and 30th October in Fira de Barcelona's Montjuďc Palacio de Congresos (Congress Hall), under the agreement of Fira de Barcelona's Administrative Board.
48-year old Capella, graduated in industrial engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), is the Executive President of Telstar, a multinational company founded in 1963 with headquarters in Terrassa, Barcelona, dedicated to design, manufacture and sales of high-tech equipment and turnkey projects for the industries related to life and health sciences. Telstar has six production plants around the world (in Spain, Estonia, the Netherlands (2), the United Kingdom and China) and is established in 16 countries, including nine engineering and consultancy offices and twelve service shops. At the end of 2012, the Japanese business group Azbil took an equity participation in Telstar.
The PharmaProcess Forum is the outcome of an agreement between the sector's leading companies and associations and Fira de Barcelona to organize the European Union's first independent congress event covering pharmaceutical processes.
Top level experts from the industry will convene at the first ever PharmaProcess to reveal the sector's latest technical advances in a programme consisting of two plenary sessions and various conferences covering process optimization to improve profitability in drug production.
The clear vocation of the forum is to create a debating space, a premiere in Europe, which enables the exchange of know-how and expertise on organizational and technological innovation in pharmaceutical processes in order to achieve maximum optimization of resources.
